Through watching short episodes, reading, writing, and discussion tasks, you’ll connect the fictional world of the drama series to real-life experiences, allowing you the context needed to have authentic and personal interactions in English.
You’ll focus on different aspects of the English language throughout this course, building your knowledge and confidence in each area.
Each episode has been structured around key vocabulary and phrases that you study each week to improve your English.
By the end of the course, you’ll be using your new English language skills in everyday situations.

Course Educators
Maria Tarau
Maria holds a PhD in Language Policy and Planning as well as postgraduate teaching and Applied Linguistics qualifications. She has over 10 years teaching experience in Australia and New Zealand and currently teaches at the University of Queensland’s Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education. Maria is a competent or expert speaker of six languages (English, Romanian, Hungarian, Spanish, French and Italian).
Michael Rabbidge
Michael has over 20 years of experience in the English Language Teaching industry as an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics as well as an English language Teacher. He has taught English to international students looking to enter mainstream education in New Zealand and lectures on university courses in South Korea that prepare students to become language teachers themselves.
Karen Kemsley
Karen has over 15 years of experience working in the International Education sector. She has taught academic, general and workplace English, and English for Specific Purposes. Karen’s research includes an examination of language and academic needs of students for whom English is a second language in preparation for mainstream study.
Laura Haseley
Laura brings over 25 years of experience as an English language teacher, Director of Studies, and Centre Director. She has taught in and managed language schools in Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Canada.
Craig Nicol
Craig has over 12 years of teaching experience in China, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand at the tertiary and high school levels. He has taught academic and general classes, IELTS preparation, and Conversation English to young adult and adult learners.
Mary Fisher
Mary has over 30 years of teaching experience in literacy and English language, both academic and general. She has taught through remote learning to tertiary level and adult students, most recently specializing in listening and speaking, and curriculum development.

Course completion
You will receive a Certificate of Achievement when you complete 90% of one course.
