Chasing Time English platform launch

Chasing Time English platform launch

The launch of our new platform several days ago signalled an important milestone for the Chasing Time English team. Five years ago, we embarked on an ambitious project to deliver a multi-level teaching and learning package framed around a TV-style detective drama series. The success of that series, Fortune, in terms of learner engagement and satisfaction rates, along with positive feedback from teachers around the world, encouraged us to push ahead with additional dramatic content and learning resources.

However, while at the time we quickly recognised that the opportunity and appetite for quality drama series for English language education existed, to go from producing and releasing Fortune to the position we find ourselves in today has been a challenging journey. It has been one filled with plenty of highs, at least the same number of lows, and with an equal measure of long days and late nights to keep things interesting.

So, it is with considerable pride that the core team who imagined, created, and delivered the very first Chasing Time English package have remained together, and can now offer a digital solution with over three hundred hours of teaching and learning content across twelve original drama series for learners at Elementary through to Low Advanced proficiency levels.

There is a range of teaching, administrative, and learner support benefits to be enjoyed when using our new platform. And over the next few weeks, we will be providing demonstrations and examples highlighting the best way to unlock these features. But as a starting point, let’s focus on the driving forces that have underpinned our teaching and learning philosophy from the outset.

Firstly, English language education should excite. Content should grip the imagination and inspire students to speak and to write. They should be eager to hear more. And the things students learn should be real and be crucial.

Secondly, educators should have flexibility and choice in how they present lessons. Blended learning, online and physical classrooms, support and homework tasks all require different delivery methods, and we want to accommodate teachers across all those environments to ensure a positive interaction with learners.

We are confident that as we roll out more information and support around our new platform that users, students, and educators alike, will find it an exciting and motivating experience.

And as always, we encourage your feedback.
